Prompt #21: Speak + Intention

Prompt #21: Speak + Intention

Hello Writers and Journalers,

Today’s two-word prompt is Speak and Intention. I have used intention several times this week as an example for how two-word combo prompts work and how each word combination is unique and I guess it heard me calling its name because intention was the first word that popped out of the Magic Box of Words this morning.

The goal is to write three pages by hand in your journal. Sometimes a prompt will take you to a page, half a page, maybe two pages, and then it’s done with you or you’re done with it. And sometimes a prompt takes you all the way to three pages and then that’s when you’re really warmed up and it might take you to four to six pages.

The point is to sit with these two words first and feel your way through whatever thoughts or feelings or ideas or memories come up and set your intention about how you want to talk about them.

Do you want to get something off your chest and be honest about anger or fear or sadness? Set a timer if you’re going to do that. Get yourself out of it and flip the narrative after four or five minutes.

Sometimes, it’s all about joy and fun and creativity.

This is one of those two-word prompts that works for all kinds of people at just about any time in life.

Try it! I bet you’ll like it.
