This is how it works:
TEN FRESH PROMPTS!
I drop a fresh prompt in our FB group every three days.
You respond by writing up to 500 words in any genre – fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc. Song lyrics count!
You publish your piece on your blog or Substack and share the link in the group.
3-DAY DEADLINES
You get three days to write your piece, for the most part.
When the month runs out, so does your time. This means that a prompt that drops on February 28 has a 1-day deadline (2 in a leap year) And October features an extra prompt with a scary 1-day deadline!
POSITIVE FEEDBACK
In order to play Flash Lit with us and enjoy the privilege of sharing your work with a supportive audience, you must return the favor by reading the work of other writers and providing them with positive feedback as well.
It’s only fair.
A 7-YEAR TRADITION
We started this fun, fast-paced storytelling tradition in 2017. It’s been a rewarding way for many members to build their blogs, their short piece portfolios, and their bank of evidence that they are, indeed, real writers.
