Prompt #16: Cacophony + Opening

Prompt #16: Cacophony + Opening

Hello Writers and Journalers,

Today’s two-word prompt is Cacophony and Opening. This is a new word combo for me, so it’s anyone’s guess what’s going to come out when I work with this journaling prompt.

I’ve never had this word combination before, but I trust the process. I know that when I sit down and put pen to page, something interesting is going to happen.

Either it will be three full pages of new ideas, or three pages of diving into some memories that I haven’t thought about for a while, or three pages of investigating some feelings – maybe some feelings will come up around cacophony and opening. It’s going to be interesting, that much I know.

And it might be half a page of just kind-of figuring out what this word combo could mean and then moving on to something completely different. That happens frequently.

If you’re establishing a new journaling habit, welcome! If you are new to the journaling journey and you are not as consistent as you would like to be, keep at it. Keep coming back. I post a fresh two-word prompt every day. They’ll be here waiting for you.

If you’ve been keeping up with your goal or intention to write regularly, congratulations! Making new habits stick can be challenging.

If you’ve been journaling less frequently and you wanted, keep at it. Come back to it and give yourself grace; it’s okay to have stops and starts, especially at first.

Journaling is for your benefit. You’re finding the pace that works for you.

You can do this.
